Sinus headaches are among things that can happen to many people. They can be caused by sinus infection, as well as swimming, cold, changes in pressure and allergies. The headache could be a seasonal illness due to the increase in dust, saturation of pollens and extreme temperatures. Sinus headaches have symptoms that are very similar to that of tension headaches and migraine. It should be crucial to immediately and accurately diagnose your condition. If you have been diagnosed with sinus migraine, it is important to do a number of steps, so you will be able to improve your condition properly. One thing that you should do is to drink a lot of fluids. You need to fully hydrate your body, due to the inflamed nasal passages.

With proper hydration, your mucus will be less thick and your nasal passages can be easily cleared; which results in less inflammation and your condition can improve more easily. It’s also a good thing to make your own sinus home remedy. Salt water can become a safe decongestant nasal spray that should greatly alleviate your discomfort. With regular usages, you should be able to keep the inflammation down and excess mucus can be drained more easily. However, any kind of decongestant, no matter how safe it is shouldn’t be sprayed into your nasal passages more than 6 times each day. It’s not a good thing to saturate your nasal passage with foreign substances. If we obtain prescription nasal decongestant from the doctor, it is important to read the instruction and follow all the correct dosage. It is important to avoid decongestant beyond the prescribed period. If you want to use a home remedy or OTC nasal decongestant, it is important to check with the doctor, to make sure that it’s safe for your condition. A wrong solution may actually worsen your health conditions. Nasal congestion can get worse if the air is dry inside your room. A humidifier should be able to improve your condition and inflammation be brought down relatively easily. If there’s no a humidifier, you may use hot water and inhale the steam to make your nasal passages humid. This should be an easy way to relieve your nasal congestion. You will also feel comfortable if you massage the sinus area gently.

It is a good think if you are able to work over any painful area on your face when you are affected with sinus headache, such as your temples and forehead. Massage the area gently with your fingertips and this should help to improve the drainage. It is important that you are able to refrain from smoking. Tobacco smoke can increase the risk or worsen your sinus headache, due to the inflamed nasal pages. It is important to avoid or even stop smoking completely. Second hand smoke could also cause similar problems. If you live in city areas, it is important to identify polluted locations and stay away from them when possible. Also take proper precaution by not staying outdoor when the air is inundated by pollen.
